Softball Falls to SEMO in Final Game at Frost Classic

Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- Southeast Missouri State scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to slip by Western Michigan Sunday at the Chattanooga Frost Classic.

The Broncos had fought back from a 5-1 deficit through three innings and posted back-to-back innings with three runs to take a 7-5 lead midway through the fifth. A two-run home run by the Redhawks tied the game in the bottom of the fifth and a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the seventh won the game for SEMO.

All six of Western Michigan's runs came off of home runs. Senior Aspen Williams hit two home runs, sending out a solo shot in the second and the fourth. She now has a team-leading six home runs on the year.

Freshman Sydney Stefanick took the loss in the pitcher's circle, throwing four innings in relief of starter Jordan Kurth.

Western Michigan finished the weekend with a 3-2 record at the Frost Classic and has a 5-6 record on the season. The Broncos will head south for their annual Florida trip March 2-11.
