CLEVELAND – For the second time this season Western Michigan men's basketball senior center
Seth Dugan has been named Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 12-18, the league announced on Wednesday.
This past week the Otsego, Mich., native averaged 20.7 points and 9.0 rebounds in three games with two double-doubles. Over the weekend at the Emerald Coast Classic, Dugan was named to the All-Tournament team after averaging 25 points, 11 rebounds and shooting 62 percent from the field.
Last Saturday against Nicholls State, Dugan collected his fourth double-double of the season with a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds. Against Southern University on Friday the senior center had 28 points and 10 rebounds on 11-of-15 shooting from the field.
On the year Dugan is one of just 23 players in the NCAA to be averaging a double-double and one of just two in the MAC. Dugan leads WMU with 18.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.
It's the second time this season Dugan has earned MAC Male scholar athlete of the week honors. He holds a 3.97 cumulative grade point average in finance.
