INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Western Michigan hockey's Colt Conrad has been named the NCAA No. 2 Star of the Week after his performance in WMU's historic sweep at No. 11 North Dakota over the weekend.

The senior forward had an empty-net goal in Friday's 2-0 win, the first road shutout for the Broncos at UND in program history, to help put the game out of reach. In Saturday's 6-2 win he had a career-high five points on one goal and four assists. Conrad's goal, his fifth of the season, tied the game up at 1-1 in the first period. He then went on to assist on the second, third, fourth and sixth goals of the game to cap off his career night.

Conrad also earned Bauer National Collegiate Hockey Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

The sweep at North Dakota was the first in WMU's program history and also improved its overall record to 6-6-0 and NCHC record to 3-3-0, now sitting tied for second place.

Conrad and the Broncos are off this weekend but return to action hosting Niagara on Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX and online at www.wmubroncos.com/tickets.
