Men’s Basketball Heads to Oakland for Mid-Week Tilt

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – After a loss on Saturday at Ole Miss, Western Michigan men's basketball will look to bounce back on the road on Tuesday, Nov. 13 against in-state mid-major rival Oakland.

Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan began the first week of the season with a split defeating Detroit Mercy in the season opener before falling to Ole Miss on Saturday. The Broncos are dominating the offensive glass early this season, recording 16.0 offensive rebounds per game.

Dugan Named MAC West Player of the Week
On Monday the Mid-American Conference announced that senior Seth Dugan was named MAC West Player of the Week. In two contests, Dugan averaged 21 points and 14.5 rebounds per game. Against Detroit Mercy, Dugan recorded a career-high 32 points and 22 rebounds, becoming just the second player in school history to have a 30 point, 20 rebound game.

Jared Prin-THREE
Junior Jared Printy had a career performance at Ole Miss on Saturday with a career-high 17 points. Printy also knocked down a career-high five three-pointers. It was the first time in Printy's career he has scored in double figures.

WMU vs. the Horizon League
Tuesday's contest at Oakland marks the second of four games against the Horizon League for WMU this season. WMU opened up the season with an 89-76 victory over Detroit Mercy and squares off with Oakland, Milwaukee and Youngstown State. All-time the Broncos are 61-48 against Horizon League opponents.

Get to 2-1
With a win over Oakland, WMU can improve its overall record to 2-1 for the first time since going 3-0 back in 2014.

WMU Picked Fourth in MAC West Preseason Poll
As voted on by the leagues' coaches and media, Western Michigan was picked to finish fourth in the Mid-American Conference west division while receiving one first-place vote. WMU also received one vote to win the conference tournament.

On the Horizon
The Broncos will make a quick stop at home for a match-up with Aquinas on Saturday, Nov. 17 before embarking on an eight-day road trip. The road trip begins on Monday, Nov. 19 against Cincinnati before heading to Florida for two games in two days at the Emerald Coast Classic, Nov. 23-24.
