CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced on Monday that Western Michigan men's basketball senior center
Seth Dugan has been named MAC West Player of the Week.
Dugan in the first two games of the season averaged 21 points and 14.5 rebounds per game. The senior center guided WMU to a split in its first two games, defeating Detroit Mercy before falling to Ole Miss.
The Otsego, Mich., native had a phenomenal start to the season against Detroit Mercy, recording a career-high 32 points and 22 rebounds in an 89-76 victory. Dugan became just the second player in program history to have a 30-point, 20-rebound game and the first to collect at least 20 rebounds since 1994.
Against Ole Miss on Saturday, Dugan nearly notched his second double-double with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Dugan leads the conference in rebounding and ranks second in the NCAA in total rebounds (29) and rebounds per game (14.5). From the floor, Dugan is currently shooting a staggering 57 percent.
