Bye was also honored as the National Scholar Player of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches and was an Academic All-American.

In his first professional season with the Revolution, the Portage, Mich. native has started in 14 of 22 games played, totaling one goal and two assists. Bye scored his first goal in the MLS on Sept. 15 versus Los Angeles Football Club, which was the equalizer in a 1-1 draw.
