HAMILTON, Ontario - Two Western Michigan golfers claimed tournament wins as Julia Champion won the Golf Ontario Women's Champion of Champions at Beverly Golf & Country Club and Anna Wilcoxson won the Amateur Pre-Qualifier competition for the LPGA Volvik Championship at Leslie Park Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Champion shot a 73 (+3) to claim the title. She credited her ball striking and short game in an interview with Golf Ontario.

"Today my ball striking was the best that it has probably been in a while. My short game was great too, it saved me a couple of times. I left a couple out there but overall I am happy with the way I played."

Over in Ann Arbor Wilcoxson claimed one of two qualifier spots for the LPGA Local Qualifying Tournament at Eagle Crest Golf Club on Monday, May 23. The junior shot an even-par 72 after shooting 34 on the front nine and 38 on the back nine.
