DeKALB, Ill. – The Western Michigan Broncos came within a single point of advancing to the Mid-American Conference Tournament finals for the third time in the last four years, but the Broncos were unable to sweep the season series with Binghamton as the Bearcats claimed a 4-3 decision in the Tournament semifinals.  With the loss, the Broncos' season concludes at 18-7 overall.

The Broncos claimed three of the six singles matches but were unable to take the deciding fourth point in the match, as the Bearcats claimed a close victory in the No. 1 singles match to settle the score between the two teams.  Maik Steiner came tantalizingly close to his 30^th singles win of the season, winning the first set against Sid Hazarika before falling 7-5, 6-4 in the final two sets.

Freshman Jefta Kecic was honored by the MAC after the match, earning All-Tournament Team honors after a straight-sets decision in the No. 2 singles match.  Kecic cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 decision over the Bearcats' Robin Lesage to open the singles session.

The doubles team of Steiner and Hamilton claimed the only victory of the doubles session for the Broncos, beating Hazarika and Frenk Kote 6-1 in the No. 3 doubles match, and Hamilton recorded his team-best 32^nd singles win of the season with a 6-4, 7-5 decision over Eliott Hureau in the No. 4 singles match.  Hamilton finishes the season tied for the fourth-highest single-season singles win mark in program history, tying Jose Orozco (2002-03) and Alejandro Staub (2007-08).  Jimmy Beckwith remained undefeated against MAC opponents this spring with a 6-2, 6-4 decision over Thomas Caputo in the No. 5 singles match.
