KALAMAZOO -- With the regular season winding down the Western Michigan women's soccer team enters the final week ranked No. 7 in the Great Lakes Region of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.
The Broncos (11-3-3, 8-1-1 MAC) are riding a five-game winning streak, a seven game unbeaten streak, and rank ahead of Ohio State, Michigan State and Illinois.
WMU closes out the regular season on Thursday at Northern Illinois at 3 p.m. ET. Western Michigan will also host an opponent in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Sunday. The game time and opponent will be determined after Thursday's games and announced on WMUBroncos.com in the evening.
WMU currently sits as the second seed behind Ball State and cannot drop any lower. Should Ball State tie at Miami on Thursday, or lose to the RedHawks, the Broncos will jump the Cardinals for the No. 1 overall seed.
