KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan University Athletic Department is proud to announce an extension through the 2019-20 sports season with Bronco Radio Network Flagship broadcast partner Midwest Communications and WZOX 96.5 FM, serving the Kalamazoo and Portage area. Z96.5 FM returns as the Flagship Station of the Bronco Radio Network for football, men's basketball, and hockey. Selected hockey games that conflict with football or men's basketball broadcasts, will air on Midwest Communications station WKZO 590 AM.

The 2014-15 Bronco Radio Network broadcast schedule opens August 30, 2014 when the Western Michigan University football team opens the season on the road at Purdue. All Bronco football broadcasts will begin with pregame coverage an hour before kickoff. Midwest Communications 50,000-watt signal WVIC 94.1 FM “The Edge”, returns as a Bronco Radio Network affiliate station and will carry all Bronco Football games serving listeners in Battle Creek, Jackson, Lansing, and all of Mid-Michigan.
Back for a third season on the Bronco Radio Network for football is Clear Channel Grand Rapids 50,000 watt station WBFX 101.3 FM “The Brew” reaching listeners in the Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Holland, and Big Rapids region of West Michigan. Bronco men's basketball will continue to air on Clear Channel Grand Rapids sports station WMAX (ESPN) 96.1 FM. Also back with the Bronco Radio Network is Clear Channel Detroit sports talk station WDFN 1130 AM. WDFN will carry a schedule of 20 selected football and basketball games for Bronco fans in Southeast Michigan. WDFN will also carry the daily “Bronco Update” which features highlights and interviews with coaches and student athletes. “Bronco Update” airs afternoons Monday through Friday on 12 stations around Michigan. “Voice of the Broncos” Robin Hook returns for his 31st season of Bronco football play-by-play and will be joined in the broadcast booth by former Bronco and Western Michigan University graduate John Creek. Creek was a member of the Broncos 1988 Mid-American Conference Championship team and is still in the record books as one of the most prolific place kickers in WMU football history. Creek has also served the area as a veteran official at the high school and college level. Bronco fans will also hear Kory Lee (selected hockey play-by-play), Sean Fagan (selected men's basketball play-by-play and color), and Joe Roberts (women's basketball and football studio host).
“Bronco Review”, a one hour weekly radio show, returns to the airwaves Wednesdays from 6 pm to 7 pm on Midwest Communications sports talk station WQLR 1660 AM “The Fan”. Coach P. J. Fleck will join Hook and Creek each week to review the previous game and look ahead to the Broncos next opponent. The show will originate from The University Roadhouse starting Wednesday, September 3rd. WQLR 1660 AM will also carry Bronco women's basketball broadcasts starting in November. Women's basketball games will also be streamed live at www.1660thefan.com.
The Broncos weekly television highlight program “Bronco Review” returns for another season starting September 4th on WLLA TV-64 with highlights of the WMU at Purdue football game. Produced on campus by WMU Media Services with veteran Producer/Director Steve Kettner, the half hour show will air each Thursday at 7:30 pm with an encore presentation each Saturday morning at 9 am. WLLA TV-64 is available on most cable systems throughout West Michigan including Comcast Cable Channel 2 or Charter Cable Channel 5 in the Kalamazoo viewing area.
