KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- For the second consecutive night the Western Michigan Bronco hockey team rallied back from a goal down to tie the Colorado College Tigers 1-1 and then win the shootout 2-1 in four rounds at Lawson Ice ARena on Saturday night.
WMU's Nolan LaPorte netted his sixth goal of the season with 4:02 remaining in the third period to square the game at 1-1. LaPorte was left unmarked in the left circle when Colton Hargrove found him from behind the net. Sheldon Dries also tallied an assist on the game-tying goal.
Lukas Hafner stopped three of the four shots he faced in the shootout along with making 25 stops on the night. Kyle Novak and Frederik Tiffels both tallied to give WMU the extra point.

CC's goalie Chase Perry made 35 saves on the night and was awarded the First Star of the game.
Neither team took advantage of their power plays with the Broncos going 0-for-3 and the Tigers going 0-for-4.
The Broncos head to Pittsburgh, Pa., for the Three Rivers Classic on Dec. 29 and 30. WMU opens the tournament against Colgate at 4:30 p.m. on Monday and then plays either Penn State or Robert Morris on the Tuesday.
