TOLEDO, Ohio -- The Western Michigan track and field team wrapped up the Toledo Collegiate Classic on Saturday evening, racking up three event wins on the weekend.

The Broncos won in the 400-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash and the discus. Sophomore Lindsey Hufnagel won the long hurdles with a time of 1:02.66, while fellow classmate Alexis Hull took fourth with a time of 1:04.98. Hufnagel also turned in a personal-best distance of 5.70 meters (18-8.50) into a strong headwind to take second overall. She also finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.52 seconds, a new personal best.

"This was a pretty good meet for us and it was an opener for some of those who didn't get to go to Houston last week," said head coach Kelly Lycan. "We have a lot to work on and some rough edges to smooth but the effort is very good."

Senior Iris Campbell took home first place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.57 seconds and third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.79 seconds. Fellow senior Cha'nese Mendenhall performed well in the 100-meter dash, taking fifth with a time of 12.46 seconds.

Junior Andrea Hiler was the other winner for the Broncos. In the discus she tossed 49.26 meters (161-7) to claim first. The Watervliet, Mich., native also took fifth in the shot put. WMU had success in other field events with junior Chiara Allen taking third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.41 meters (37-5.25). Freshman Reagan Engstrom also took fourth in the pole vault with a height of 3.35 meters (10-11.75.)

The Broncos head to East Lansing for the Michigan State Invitational next weekend.
