Indre Takes MAC Male Scholar Athlete Award

CLEVELAND, Ohio - It was announced today that junior Nadin Indre of the Western Michigan men's tennis team was named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week for January 18, 2013.  The award is the first such honor for Indre this season.

Indre, who maintains a 3.85 GPA in Business, kicked off the season with a pair of wins against Detroit on January 11. Indre teamed up with fellow Bronco Stephen Payne to defeat Detroit 8-7, (7-3) in a very close number one doubles match. In singles, he defeated Detroit's Mike Basha 6-3,6-2 in the number two singles match.

The junior kept the ball rolling against #41 Northwestern on January 13 winning both his singles and doubles matches. He opened up doubles by defeating Northwestern's pair of Spencer Wolf and Fedor Baev 8-5 in the number one doubles match. In singles, after dropping the first set 5-7, Indre won the next two sets 6-3 and 10-8 to take the number one singles match.

Indre is 4-0 on the young season going 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles.
