Broncos Begin Competition at Miami Invitational

OXFORD, Ohio - The Western Michigan track & field team commenced its weekend at the 27th Annual Miami Invitational, with three individuals participating in the opening competition of the weekend. The Broncos will return to action tomorrow morning with the 5000m run.

The Broncos had three individuals competing in the Hammer Throw on Friday night, with Chelsea Gerbers tossing the implement 43.19m/141-08 in the field of 20. Stephanie Negrate saved her best toss for last in the competition, throwing the hammer 41.42m/135-11.

The meet will continue on Saturday morning with more heats of the 5000m run, scheduled for 11:15 a.m.
