WMU vs FSU Game Notes - 12/7

Pre-Game
-This is the 32nd consecutive start for WMU goalie Frank Slubowski, dating back to Jan.13,2012.
-WMU is looking to extend its winning streak to four games against Ferris State.
-The Broncos are 5-0-1 in the last six meetings against FSU.
-The Broncos are 6-1 at Lawson Ice Arena this season.  
-Tonight match-up features two teams in the top 20 in scoring defense. (WMU-13, FSU-17).
-Ferris State is riding a five-game winning streak into tonights game.
-FSU was last year's national championship runner-up.
-WMU is 8-3-1 (5-2-1-1 CCHA) and is ranked seventh in the USCHO poll.

First Period
-Mike Leone scores his first goal of the season, to give WMU 1-0 lead.
-Ben Warda now has a two-game assist streak and three assists on the season.
-Along with Dan Dekeyser gettin his fourth assist of the season.
-That was only the fifth goal for WMU in the first period this year.
-FSU's Garrett Thompson scores the Bulldogs first goal of the night.
-Tied 1-1 after the first period.
-WMU outshot FSU 9-5 in the period.  
-WMU has limited opponents to five or fewer shots in 11 of the last 22 regulation periods played at Lawson Ice Arena.
-WMU has outshot their opponent in the first period for the third game in a row.

Second Period
 -WMU is going to have their first 5-on-3 power play of the game.
-Dane Walters scores the power play goal and grabs his fifth goal of the season.
-WMU is 7-1-1 when scoring on the power play.
-Travis Ouellette scores the power play goal, the 14th of his career and first of the season.
-Third penalty of the period for Ferris State, fourth of the game.
-Dane Walters with yet another power play goal and his sixth goal of the season.
-Two of the three WMU goals have been power play goals.
-The Broncos have scored 12 goals this season in the second period.
-WMU leads Ferris State 3-2 after the second period.
-WMU is outshooting FSU 23-13 and 14-8 in the period alone.  

Third Period
-WMU this year has scored 14 goals in the third period, the most of any period.
-Kenny Morrison puts in the slap-shot one minute into the period for his fourth goal of the season.
-WMU wins 4-2.
-WMU outshoots FSU 32-15 and 9-2 in the third period.

-WMU extends it's winning streak to four games.
-The Broncos end Ferris State's five-game unbeaten streak.
