KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan golf team returns to action 22 days after the Rio Verde Invitational when the Broncos travel to Arkansas for the UALR Women's Golf Classic on March 28-29. This is the third-straight season WMU has competed in the event with its best finish coming in 2010, tying for fifth.
Western Michigan has finished third or better as a team in all but one tournament thus far in 2010-11, including wins at the Cardinal Classic and the 2010 MAC Preview.
This year's tournament will return to the Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark. The field is comprised of 19 teams, which include UALR,
Arkansas State, Ball State, Central Arkansas, Eastern Michigan, Florida
International, Lamar University, Louisiana Monroe, Middle Tennessee,
Missouri-Kansas City, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Oral Roberts, Texas
A&M Corpus Christi, U. Texas El Paso, Texas Pan Am, Troy, Western
Michigan and Wichita State.
The tournament will take place over two days with 36 holes played on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday morning. WMU will compete with Britney Hamilton, Kaylee Imel, Leah Grawburg, Stephanie Koske and Melissa Beurmann.
