WMU Football Opens 2010 Spring Season

The Western Michigan football program opens its 2010 spring season on Thursday with its first of 15 practices culminating in the Annual Brown & Gold game on April 17 at noon in Waldo Stadium.  The Broncos are will get to work on finding a new starting quarterback, looking for a replacement for a back-to-back 1,000-yard rusher as well as rebuilding their defense from last year.

Gone are Tim Hiller, Brandon West, Austin Pritchard and company from the Western Michigan roster and now who will be the Broncos to step into the leading roles to lead WMU into 2010.  Returning is a corps of wide receivers that all gained valuable experience last season and will help the new Bronco signal caller ease into his role.  The defense will look to learn from the new staff on that side of the ball with experience at linebacker and in the defensive backfied.

We will have post practice reports from head coach Bill Cubit as well as video Q&A's with the new members of the Bronco coaching staff - Amp Campbell, Dave Cohen, Lou Esposito and Rich Nagy.

We will also speak with members of the 2010 Western Michigan football team, representing at least one student-athlete from each positional unit throughout the spring season, leading up to the Brown & Gold game on April 17.
