Broncos Head to CMU on Saturday

THE GAME ? Western Michigan and Central Michigan enter this season's match up undefeated in Mid-American Conference action with the Broncos boasting a 4-0 MAC record (6-1 overall) and CMU with a 3-0 conference mark (4-2 overall).

TELEVISION ? The game is the MAC TV Game of the Week and will be televised on ESPN Regional and can be seen in the Kalamazoo/Grand Rapids area on WZZM-TV, on WXYZ-TV in the Detroit area, on WHTV in Lansing, on WNEM-DT2-TV in the Flint/Saginaw/Bay City area and on WMQF in Marquette, Mich. The game will also be available in Chicago (WPWR-TV), Milwaukee (WDJT-TV), Green Bay-Appleton (WACY-TV), Las Vegas (KEGS-TV) and various other markets in Indiana, Iowa, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin and Illinois. Michael Reghi will call the action from Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

RADIO ? This and all Western Michigan football games will be broadcast live on the Bronco Radio Network and its new flagship station, WZUU - 92.5 FM. Robin Hook (play-by-play), calling WMU football games in his 25th season, and Monty Porter (analysis) will have the call as they have together for the past 10 seasons.

SERIES IN BRIEF ? Western Michigan holds the series edge over the Chippewas, 43-33-2, but trail at Kelly/Shorts Stadium, 13-19-0. WMU's last win in Mount Pleasant, Mich., came in 2002 (35-10) and the Broncos are looking for their first win over CMU since 2005 (31-24 in Kalamazoo, Mich.)

THE COACHES ? Bill Cubit (Delaware, 1975) begins his fourth season as the head coach of Western Michigan. He is 26-17 overall (.605), 14-5 at Waldo Stadium (.737), at Western Michigan and led the Broncos to their first bowl game since 1988 following the 2006 season. Cubit has led WMU to road wins over BCS conference teams such as Virginia and Iowa during his tenure, outscoring those teams, 45-29.

Butch Jones (Ferris State, 1990) his in his second season at the helm of the Central Michigan football program. Jones led CMU to its second-straight MAC Championship in 2007 and has a 12-8 record as a head coach.

UP NEXT ? Western Michigan will get a well-deserved week off on Oct. 25 before welcoming MAC West and intra-state rival Eastern Michigan to Waldo Stadium on Nov. 1. This game will also mark the induction of the WMU Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2008 and the reunion of the 1988 MAC Championship team.
