ST. LOUIS - Ryan Mahrle was one of only two CCHA seniors to be named to the Lowe's Senior CLASS All-Senior All-America Team, which was announced on April 6 at the 2007 Frozen Four being held in St. Louis.
Mahrle, a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, was named Second Team All-Senior All-America. The only other CCHA student-athlete to make the list was Notre Dame's David Brown, winner of the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.
The Troy, Mich., native led the Western Michigan hockey team in points for a defensman with 17 (2-15) and finished the year with points in five of his last seven games in the Brown & Gold. Mahrle was fifth on the team in blocked shots and had a season-high five blocks against Michigan (Dec. 2).
He will graduate with a degree in finance and currently carries a 3.68 GPA. He has made the Dean's list six times over his Bronco career and been a member of the Bronco Honor Roll seven times.
