KALAMAZOO, Mich.- In a game that featured 10 lead changes, Western Michigan (13-16, 6-9 MAC) outlasted Northern Illinois (17-10, 8-7 MAC), knocking off the Huskies on senior day, 67-56.

After a fairly evenly played first half, Western Michigan held a 31-30 advantage at the break. The Broncos stepped it up in the second half, with Moore leading the way, scoring 20 of her 32 points in the period.

After flip-flopping the margin to start the second half, WMU finally took the lead for good with 15:22 remaining. Moore was fouled after taking the ball hard to the basket and was able to convert the three-point play to push the Broncos ahead, 39-38. The Brown & Gold then went on an 8-2 run, with Moore contributing six of those points, to extend the lead to seven, 47-40.

Northern Illinois answered with back-to-back Stephanie Raymond three's to pull within one with 9:28 on the clock. The next trip down the floor, Thelen pulled up and hit a big three for the Broncos, silencing any NIU comeback.

WMU capitalized on an intentional foul and out-scored the Huskies 17-10 down the stretch to seal the 11-point win in its last home game of the season. The Broncos finished 2006-07 with a 10-3 record at University Arena.

WMU shot 40 percent from the field and held the Huskies to 31 percent on the day. The Broncos also controlled the boards, 52-42.

Kristin Weiner led NIU with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Raymond and Becky Smith each scored 12 points apiece.

Western Michigan will conclude the regular season on Wednesday, traveling to Toledo for a 7 p.m. contest against the Rockets. The Broncos then head to the Mid-American Conference Tournament in Cleveland on Sunday, March 4. WMU will be the fourth or fifth seed in the West Division depending on the outcome of the Toledo matchup.
