MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- In a theme that has become all too familiar this season, Western Michigan dropped its third straight one-goal decision, losing 2-1 to Robert Morris in non-conference action at the North Athletic Complex.
A three-minute stretch in the second half proved to be the Broncos' downfall, as the Colonials' Connor Curran-Hays and Ryan Zabinski scored in the 79th and 81st minutes to snag the lead from WMU.
"They had a lot of pressure on us and carried play most of the second half," stated WMU coach Chris Karwoski. "We had some disorganization in the back, but you can't blame Casey (Aubil), he played great in goal for us." A first-year starter, Aubil made four saves -- three of those coming in one-on-one situations.
WMU (0-3) struck first when Dustin Snyder took advantage of a turnover in the box, accepting a pass from Greg Shepka and scoring in the 23rd minute. Tom Oatley also assisted on the play. The Brown & Gold continue their weekend road trip at Cleveland State Sunday in a 1 p.m. start.
