Box Score

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Western Michigan staked a second half lead, but couldn't hold on in a 87-67 loss to Notre Dame at the Joyce Center Sunday afternoon.

WMU (1-3) rallied from a 10-point deficit in the first half, claiming a three-point lead, 46-43, on Amanda Parker's three-point basket at 17:27 of the second half.  Parker hit another three-point bucket at the 14:53 mark to make it a 51-51 game before the Irish went on an 18-2 run to pull away.

Carrie Moore led the Broncos with 18 points while Parker registered 11 points.  Lindsey Brown grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in 22 minutes of action.

"We did many things that we can feel good about in this game," said coach Ron Stewart.  "We tried different combinations in the first half and played a lot of people.  We just ran out of gas in the end."

ND (3-1) placed five players in double figures to improve to 3-0 versus Mid-American Conference opponents this season.  Reserve Ashley Barlow lead the way with 17 points, 14 coming in the second half.  Melissa D'Amico added 16 points and seven rebounds.

WMU travels to the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands this week, taking on Marquette (Nov. 23), Xavier (Nov. 24) and Auburn (Nov. 25).
