KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- If his budget allowed, coach Chris Karwoski wouldn't mind buying a few goals.

For the fourth time in five games, WMU was held off the scoreboard in suffering a 2-0 loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay in a non-conference match held at the Soccer Complex.

In a physical match the generated 34 fouls and six yellow cards, the Phoenix prevailed by striking twice from close range in the second half.  UWGB's first goal occurred in pin-ball fashion as a clearing pass from the Bronco zone deflected off the body of Joshua Okoampa past Bronco goalkeeper Casey Aubil.  The goal was Okoampa's 11th in as many games.  UWGB added a late tally in the 75th minute on Drew Anderson's header.

"The guys played hard, but we failed to convert on our opportunities, which we had plenty of in this game," said Karwoski.  "We have to find ways to be more dangerous offensively."

Although the Phoenix held a distinct advantage in total shots (23-13), the shots on goal count was relatively close in favoring UWGB (7-5).

WMU (2-9-0) will host Northern Illinois in a Mid-American Conference match next Friday (Oct. 6), starting at 2 p.m.
