Chris Karwoski's squad built a 2-0 lead after 12 minutes of play on goals from Nashir Caraballi and Tom Oatley. BGSU (2-8-1, 0-2-0 MAC) got on the board just before halftime on Dave Belfort's shot.

"It was another hard-fought game," said Karwoski. "We let them back in the game after going up 2-0, but the guys showed their character in fighting back and responding with a win. Our midfielders were up and down the field creating chances and I thought defensively we played well -- BG took advantage of a few lapses on our part -- but that is what good teams do."
Edgar Rivera and Chad Schurr added assists while senior Brent Miller earned the victory in goal, making five stops.
Western Michigan (5-5-1, 2-0-0 MAC) plays host to Michigan Wednesday (Oct. 12) before traveling to Northern Illinois on Friday (Oct. 14).
