2017: Named team Most Valuable Pitcher of the Year ... Appeared in 26 games with 10 starts … went 5-3 with a 3.66 ERA in 93.1 innings pitched … led the team in innings, wins, strikeouts (79) and appearances … pitched at least 5.0 innings eight times … career-high 8.2 innings pitched at Toledo (4/2/17) with five strikeouts … had a streak of three straight games where he went 3-0 and pitched 12.0 innings without allowing an earned run and picked up eight strikeouts.

2016: Made 34 appearances all in relief roles … finished 1-2 with a 5.44 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 48.0 innings … pitched 3.0 scoreless innings against Florida A&M with one strikeout on March 4 … had four straight appearances from March 11 to March 25 where he did not allow a run with five strikeouts … threw a scoreless inning against Louisville in the NCAA Regional with two strikeouts. 

Junior College: Earned all-conference honors as a sophomore in 2015, going 7-1 with a 3.38 ERA and striking out 35 while walking just 18 in 56 innings… struck out 23 in just 26.1 innings pitched as a freshman in 2014.

Personal: Born Nov. 7, 1994… full name is Kyle Clayton Mallwitz… has a sister, Jessica… uncle Mike Jones played football at Utah State in the 1980’s… son of Tony and Lisa Mallwitz.
