ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Western Michigan hockey senior goalie Lukas Hafner signed with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL as announced by the team on Wednesday.

Hafner recently concluded his four-year career with the Broncos, finishing with 25 wins and four shutouts. With his unique passing ability he also tallied five assists in this career, including tying the program record for assists in a game by a goalie with two against St. Cloud State on Jan. 23.

The Toledo, Ohio native leaves WMU with the single-season program record for save percentage after recording a .925 during the 2013-14 season. That year Hafner was also named the Great Lakes Invitational Most Valuable Player after helping the Broncos to the GLI title outdoors at Comerica Park after a 3-2 overtime win over Michigan and a 1-0 overtime win over Michigan Tech in the title game.

In total, Hafner appeared in 86 games, started in 72, posted a 25-37-10 record, finished with a .909 save percentage, and allowed 2.76 goals per game.
