2018: Made 25 appearances with one start ... went 1-3 with a 5.36 ERA and a team-high seven saves ... his seven saves was tied for most in the MAC and 93rd in the NCAA ... his 25 appearances ranked eighth most in the MAC ... in 45.1 innings of work, allowed 27 earned runs on 38 hits while recorded 45 strikeouts ... held opponents to a .235 batting average ... recorded at least two strikeouts in 15 of the 25 appearances ... registered four strikeouts in 3.0 innings vs. Toledo (March 25) ... against Northern Illinois went 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out four ... went a season-high 4.0 innings vs. Central Michigan, giving up just one hit and striking out three. 

2017: Made 14 appearances starting in 12 games for the Broncos … went 3-3 with a 4.76 ERA in 56.2 innings pitched … recorded his first Bronco victory at Miami (3/25/17) … pitched a season-high scoreless 8.0 innings with three strikeouts against Miami (3/25/17) picking up the win …  struck out a season-high six batters against Ohio (4/29/17).  

2016: Did not play. 

Junior College: Struck out 23 batters in 29.0 IP at Jackson CC in 2015.

High School: Three-sport athlete at Hillsdale, earning two letters in football, three in basketball and four in baseball… helped team to district championships in 2012-13 as well as a regional championship in 2012.

Personal: Born March 10, 1995… full name is James Lawrence Townsend-Chase… has two older siblings, a brother Derek and sister Lauren… son of Scott and Nicole Chase.
