2018: Made 12 appearances with seven starts ... went 1-3 with a 5.72 ERA in 28.1 innings of work ... recorded 19 strikeouts and allowed just 18 earned runs on 42 hits ... had at least two strikeouts in five of the 12 appearances ... totaled a season-high four strikeouts in 2.2 innings at Ball State (May 18) ... went a season-high 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on three hits with one strikeout vs. Miami (Feb. 23). 

2017: Named Academic All-MAC ... made five starts before his season was cut short due to injury … finished 1-2 with a 3.51 ERA in 25.2 innings pitched … in his last three starts combined, he pitched 18.2 innings allowing just two runs and three walks with 11 strikeouts.

2016: Appeared in 20 games with eight starts … finished 1-8 with a 7.36 ERA … fourth on the team with 58.2 innings pitched … fifth on the team with 31 strikeouts … pitched a career-high 5.0 innings and picked up a career-high five strikeouts against Chicago State on March 29 … pitched 3.2 scoreless innings at Florida A&M on March 6 … pitched 1.1 scoreless innings against Louisville in the NCAA Regional. 

High School: Earned three letters in baseball at Metea Valley… named all-state and all-area as a senior in 2015… 2015 Aurora Beacon News Player of the Year… 2015 Daily Herald Dupage County All-Area team… 2015 Positively Naperville All-Area team… posted a 9-4 record with a 1.08 ERA as a senior, recording 117 strikeouts while also hitting .275 with 15 RBIs… 2014 Dupage County All-Area team… 2014 Naperville Sun All-Area team… 2014 First Team All-Upstate 8 conference… 2014 Beacon News All-Area team.

Szott… has two older siblings, a sister Allison and a brother Mark, who played five years of college football at Northwestern… cousin of current MLB pitcher JA Happ, who played three years of college baseball at Northwestern… cousin Ethan Happ is a current basketball player at Wisconsin… father Gary played two years of basketball at Rockford College… son of Gary and Rose Szott.
