2017: Named Second Team All-MAC for the second straight season … Started 51 games at shortstop or designated hitter … finished regular season ranked No. 7 in the nation in triples and No. 7 in triples per game (0.14) … hit .339 with 46 runs, 11 doubles, seven triples, two home runs, 35 RBI and eight stolen bases with a .480 slugging percentage … led the team in runs, triples and stolen bases while finishing second in slugging percentage, tying for second in doubles and finishing third in batting average … had 21 multiple hits games … went 5-for-5 with a home run, a double and three runs vs. Northeastern (3/10/17) … went 4-for-5 with three runs, two RBI and two triples against Grace College (2/22/17).

2016: Started 55 out of 56 games at shortstop ... named a Freshman All-American by Louisville... named MAC Freshman Position Player of the Year, the first in school history ... Second Team All-MAC ... All-MAC Tournament Team ... tied for 14th all-time with 71 hits in a season ... led team in hits (71), batting average (.336), runs (31) and stolen bases (12) while finishing third in RBI (24) and tied for fourth in doubles (6) ... jumped his batting average up to .441 in MAC play, a mark good for second in the conference ... tied for the team-lead with 20 multiple hit games ... had a 14-game hit streak from Apr. 30 to May 25, tied for the 12th longest in school history ... had a stretch from Apr. 30 to May 14 where he went 22-for-37 (.594) with multiple hit games in six of the seven ... went 5-for-6 with a double a run and four RBI against Toledo on Apr. 30 ... went 3-for-5 with his first career home run, two runs and three RBI against Georgetown on March 9 ... went 26 games at shortstop before he recorded his first error. 

High School: Four-year letter winner in baseball for the Chargers… four-time all-district selection, earning three first-team honors from 2013-15 and a second-team distinction in 2012… batted .463 with a .568 on-base percentage as a senior while contributing 48 hits, 38 runs, 16 doubles, four triples, 28 stolen bases and 18 RBI… hit .447 with 14 extra-base hits out of 46 total as a junior in 2014.

Personal: Born April 22, 1997… full name is Connor Scott Smith… great-grandfather Cecil Stine played baseball in the Toronto Blue Jays organization for five years… grandfather Richard Johnson played baseball at Central Michigan… has an older sister, Loren… son of Scott and Kolleen Smith.
