Women's Soccer Prepares for Match at Hawaii

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team will complete its opening season road trip with a game against Hawaii on Thursday night. The two teams will hit the field at 10 PM ET in Honolulu, Hawaii.

LAST TIME OUT
Western Michigan opened the regular season with a 1-1 tie against Idaho on Tuesday night.

Camryn Huhn scored the lone goal for WMU, while Meredith Vance dished out an assist. Reagan Sulaver was strong in net, stopping four shots.

PRESEASON EXPECTATIONS
Entering the season with three consecutive regular season MAC Championships, the Broncos were once again picked to lead the conference in 2026.

The Brown and Gold were runaway favorites in the league's preseason poll, earning 119 points and nine first-place votes. Miami (102), Bowling Green (101), Buffalo (97) and Kent State (82) rounded out the top five.

WMU has dominated the MAC over the last three seasons, losing just once in conference play. That lone loss came to Northern Illinois, which is no long a member of the conference.

NEW IN KALAMAZOO
Though expectations are high for WMU, the program will look to match its success with a variety of new faces. The Broncos have 16 newcomers in 2026.

Those new faces have gotten off to a fast start, including freshman Camryn Huhn who scored in her first career start against Idaho on Tuesday night.

Reese Lynn and Irelyn Sheldon were among the top contributors during exhibition play, with each scoring two goals in a trio of wins.

Transfer Tessa Fagerson and freshmen Gracie Lynn and Simone Sharpless also found the back of the net in exhibition action, while transfer Charlotte Stavis added an assist.

SCOUTING THE RAINBOW WAHINE
Hawaii has struggled to open the 2026 campaign, dropping a pair of games to Texas Tech and Kansas State. The Rainbow Wahine scored just one goal between those two matches.

This is the first meeting between the two programs.

Anuhea Aluli has the lone goal for Hawaii this season, while Jas Cayetano has added an assist. The duo has combined to produce nine total shots (four on goal).

In net, Kennedy Justin has started both games for the Rainbow Wahine. She has allowed four goals and holds a 2.00 goals against average and .600 save percentage.
