Track and Field Lands Six Athletes on CSC Academic All-District Team

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team was announced this afternoon, with six Broncos headlining the list of honorees. 

Lane Hagens, Ava Kurczewski, Laurine Elisa Marimon, Lily Overton, Tess Van Dyk and Lillian Zelasko were the Western Michigan honorees. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must have a 3.5 GPA or higher while being top-50 in the region in an individual event throughout the cross country/track and field season. 

Hagens and Van Dyk were both top 50 in the indoor shot put, while studying Psychology and Exercise Science, respectively. They are both three-time Academic All-District honorees. 

Kurczewski qualified in the mile, 3K and 3K steeplechase, Zelasko was a qualifier in the 3K and 5K and Overton earned her spot in the 3K. Kurczewski and Overton study Exercise Science, while Zelasko is a Political Science major. 

Marimon was dominant throughout the 2026 season, qualifying in the indoor and outdoor triple jump and the indoor long jump. She is the school's record holder in both indoor and out door triple jump. She is a Biomedical Sciences major.
