KALAMAZOO, Mich. – With a split against North Dakota this past weekend, Western Michigan will enter the postseason ranked among the top four in the country.
The Broncos checked in at No. 4 in both the USCHO and USA Hockey rankings this week. Michigan, Michigan State, North Dakota, WMU and Providence were the top five teams in both polls. The Brown and Gold received one first-place vote in the USCHO poll.
WMU was joined by UND, Denver and Minnesota Duluth in the rankings. St. Cloud State, Miami and Colorado College were receiving votes. Arizona State and Omaha did not get any recognition in this week's polls.
Western Michigan will begin postseason play against Colorado College on Friday at 7 PM at Lawson Arena. This is the third meeting between the two teams in the NCHC Quarterfinals since the league was formed. WMU took five of six points against CC back on Feb. 20-21. For tickets, visit
