Wisdom Earns NCHC Forward of the Week Honors

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Junior Zaccharya Wisdom was named the NCHC Forward of the Week, the league announced this afternoon.

Wisdom was Western Michigan's top player during a weekend sweep of Arizona State, collecting a team-high four points on two goals and two assists. The Canadian winger had seven shots on goal, one game-winning goal and was +2.

The Seattle Kraken draft pick opened the series with a three-point outing, tallying a goal and two assists in a 6-2 win on Feb. 13. Wisdom assisted on WMU's first goal of the night and added a helper on the game-winning goal a few minutes later. He then ended the game with a power-play goal, capping off a dominant opening night victory.

He continued his strong stretch of hockey the next night, lighting the lamp on the power play in the second period to give WMU the lead. The goal would go on to be the game winner. Thanks to his success, the Broncos were able to go 8-for-8 on the penalty kill and 6-for-13 on the power play between the two wins.

Wisdom has continued to improve his season numbers, sitting with 24 points on 14 goals and 10 assists. He has career highs in both points and goals so far this season. He is also +17 with two game-winning goals in 30 games played.

Wisdom and the Broncos will be in action this weekend at Colorado College. This will be Wisdom's first time back to Colorado Springs since transferring to Western Michigan this offseason. The two teams will open the series on Friday, Feb. 20 at 9 PM ET at Ed Robson Arena.
