KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's cross country team placed second at the George Dales Invite this morning at the Prairies Golf Club. The Broncos had five runners in the top 25.
Leading the way for the second straight meet was
Lily Overton, who placed ninth with a time of 21:22.7. That was a PR by more than 15 seconds. Following her was
Lara Machado Pereira, who claimed 13th place with a time of 21:52.8.
Next to cross the finish line was
Kaelin Hughes in 20th place. She finished in a time of 22:10.0. Rounding out the scoring lineup were
Larissa McGrath and
Ava Kurczewski. They were 23rd and 24th respectively. McGrath had a time of 22:13.5, while Kurczewski closed out the race in 22:19.9. Both of those times were more than 10 second PR's.
Rebekah Asselin was also strong in the meet, finishing in 30th place with a time of 22:34.8. That mark was a PR by more than a minute.
Lily Baibak was racing in her first collegiate 6K, claiming a time of 23:23.9 to finish 61st.
