KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan cross country team will compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional tomorrow morning. The meet is taking place at the Angel Mounds Cross Country Course in Evansville, Ind. The Broncos will hit the course at 11 AM.
LAST TIME OUT
The Brown and Gold took sixth place at the MAC Championships, headlined by a 19th-place finish out of
Lily Overton. She has paced the Broncos in every meet so far this season.
Lara Machado Pereira,
Kaelin Hughes and
Ava Kurczewski also claimed top-50 spots. Hughes was the fifth fastest freshman at the meet.
LAST YEAR'S EVENT
Western Michigan finished 18th as a team and had an All-Region performer in
Lillian Zelasko at last year's NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet. Zelasko claimed 21st place at the meet, leading the way for the Brown and Gold.

Lauren Sancrant and
Larissa McGrath also return after posting PR's at last year's event.
FRESHMAN PHENOM
Kaelin Hughes has been one of WMU's most reliable runners this season, showcasing her talent at the MAC Championships. She was the fifth fastest freshman at the event, crossing the finish line in a time of 21:42.4.
She's been top three in the Western Michigan scoring lineup in every meet so far this season. Additionally, she's posted a PR in all but one meet so far this season.
