KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Western Michigan continues its outdoor track and field season this weekend at the Chippewa Challenge. The Broncos will have just under 30 entrants in the meet.
AVA'S BIG-TIME DEBUT
Ava Kurczewski had never run the steeplechase before last week's Spartan Invite, but she showed out in a big way. She won the race with a sub-11 minute time to produce the fifth best time in program history.
Her time is also top 70 in the country and the second best time in the MAC so far this season.
BRI'S BIG DAY
The throws group has had a great start to the outdoor season, and
Bri'Yanna Robinson has played a big role in that. She was great at last week's Spartan Invite, winning the hammer throw with a mark of 55.25 meters.
That was good for fifth in program history and is currently the fifth best mark in the conference so far this season.
GETTING IT DONE IN THE CLASSROOM
The Broncos haven't just had success on the track, as they have a great record of producing results in the classroom as well. The Brown and Gold produced a 3.55 GPA this past semester, including 13 4.0 GPA's and 23 student-athletes with a 3.5 or higher.
