KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's basketball team had four student-athletes selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team, the most in program history.

Max Burton,
Brandon Muntu and
JaVaughn Hannah earned All-District selections, with Burton and Hannah garnering the honor for the second consecutive year.
An All-MAC Second Team selection, Willis led the conference in scoring (16.8 PPG) and assists (5.8), and ranked fifth in the league in both steals per game (1.7) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8). A University Studies major with a 3.53 GPA, the junior upped his averages across the board in MAC play, ranking second in the league in both scoring (17.5 PPG) and assists (5.8), fourth in steals (1.8) and seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.9). Willis was the lone Bronco to advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
A Marketing major with a 3.77 GPA, Burton was one of three Broncos to play in all 32 games this season and made 30 starts. The redshirt sophomore posted 5.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per contest, with his rebounding average ranking 18th in the MAC and his blocks ranked 11th.
Like Burton, Muntu also featured in all 32 games for the Brown and Gold this season, earning eight starts. A University Studies major with a 3.74 GPA, Muntu tallied 5.7 points per game this season. The redshirt junior netted in double-figures seven times, including a career-high 18 points in the win at Youngstown State.
A Sport Management major with a 3.88 GPA, Hannah finished second on the Broncos in scoring at 12.0 points per game and reeled in 4.1 rebounds per contest, boosting his averages to 13.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in conference action. The junior also ranked ninth in the MAC in steals at 1.3 per game.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the court and in the classroom. The CSC All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
