Western Michigan grabbed the first run of the day in the top of the first. Grady Mee drew a one-out walk, stole second, then scored on a Michael Maloney single.

The first two Broncos reached to start the second, but WMU could not add to its early edge. Georgia Tech tallied five in the home half to move in front, 5-1.

Western Michigan pulled one back in the top of the third as a Jackson Isaacs single brought Mee around for a second time. It was the first career RBI for the true freshman.

The Yellow Jackets answered again, pushing across three in the bottom of the third to stretch the margin to 8-2.

In the fourth, Nolan Zajac led off with a single, the first knock of his collegiate career. With two outs, Maloney brought him home with his second run-scoring base hit of the day.

Georgia Tech picked up one in the fifth, and then scored twice in both the sixth and seventh frames to close out the contest.

The Broncos head to Nashville, Tenn., on Tuesday to take on Lipscomb. First pitch is scheduled for 4 pm.
