KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan baseball team dropped the finale of its three-game weekend series against Eastern Michigan, 17-3, on Saturday afternoon.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, WMU redshirt senior
Dylan Nevar launched a solo shot to straightaway center for his 200th career hit as a Bronco. The long ball was Nevar's first of the season and 30th of his career, the second-most in program history.
Eastern Michigan grabbed an early edge, plating a run in the top of the first.
Western Michigan came right back in the home half.
Tanner Mally led off with a single, the first of his three hits in the contest, moved to second on a
Grady Mee base hit, then scored on an error to even the game at 1-1.
After
Zach Vriesenga ended an EMU second-inning threat with a strikeout, the Eagles regained the lead by tallying six in the third frame. The visitors then stretched out their advantage with seven in the fifth and three in the sixth.
Nevar's home run got Western Michigan going in the sixth.
Cooper Hums followed with a double, and eventually scored on a ground ball off of the bat of
Avery Thielman.
