Box Score 2 KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team split a pair of matches over the weekend, falling at Indiana, 4-1, on Friday before rebounding with a 7-0 win at home over Eastern Illinois on Sunday.
Against the Hoosiers, the Broncos started off strong by earning the doubles point. Graduate student

Audrey Smitek beat Marinia Fuduric and Sarah L'allier, 6-3, at No. 1 to put the early pressure on. Freshman

Christine Gouws secured the point with a 6-4 win over Elisabeth Dunac and Nicole Teodosescu at No. 3.
IU tied the match up with a 6-1, 6-1 win by Nicole Sifuentes over Polina Kohtko at No. 3. The Hoosiers then picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 5 singles before a three-set win by Teodosescu over Glantz at No. 1 sealed the match.
WMU swept the Panthers on Sunday. Glantz and Smitek won at No. 1 doubles to secure the point after EIU defaulted at No. 3 by not fielding a team. The Broncos started off singles up 3-0 because of default wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Glantz, Khotko, Baudouin and freshman Friday Weiejerman then each won in two sets to complete the sweep.
The Broncos head to the University of Illinois for a pair of matches next Saturday. The Broncos open with a match against the Fighting Illini at 10 a.m. and then battle Chicago State at 4 p.m.
