ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team had three athletes competing at the GVSU Tune-Up on Friday afternoon. The trio produced great results in the final meet of the regular season.
Jade Celestine was terrific in the 60-meter hurdles posting a pair of sub-9.00 times in the prelims and finals. She finished with a time of 8.99 in the prelims and followed that up with a finish of 8.98 in the finals. She was able to collect third place in the event.
Laurie-Ann Desormes performed well in the 60-meter dash, earning a time of 7.82 to qualify for the finals. She did not race in the finals. Finally,
Layla Wallace was strong in the 400-meter dash, recording a time of 1:00.93. That was 0.01 off of her personal-best time.
UP NEXT
The Broncos will be in action next weekend at the MAC Championships. The event is being hosted by Akron on Feb. 28-March 1.
