KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan volleyball team and head coach
Colleen Munson have announced the signing of a pair of transfers in defensive specialist/libero Ella Guilfoy (Virginia Tech) and outside hitter Lizzie MacIntosh (Grand Rapids CC). The duo has already enrolled at WMU and joins incoming freshmen Keely Culler (Archbold, Ohio), outside hitter Mia Jurkovic (Oswego, Ill.) and middle blocker Cassidy Pratley (East Leroy, Mich.) in the program's 2025 class. All five are slated to suit up for the Brown and Gold beginning with the 2025 season.

Guilfoy arrives in Kalamazoo with three years of eligibility remaining after spending her freshman season at Virginia Tech. She appeared in 54 sets over the course of 19 matches for the Hokies last fall, totaling 23 digs and serving up six aces.
The Indianapolis native was a four-year letterwinner at Roncalli High School, where she helped the team to a 102-28 record and a pair of Final Fours during her career. A four-time AVCA Phenom and four-time JVA Watch List selection, Guilfoy was also named to the 2023 AVCA All-American Watch List. In addition to volleyball, she played basketball, softball and was on the track team.
Off of the court, Guilfoy was selected as Roncalli's 2023 Leadership Award winner. She earned Academic All-State honors in 2023 and was a two-time Academic All-American. A member of the National Honor Society, she graduated with honors and plans to study Biochemistry at WMU.
Guilfoy comes from an athletic family, with both of her parents having competed collegiately. Her mother, Veronica, played volleyball at Mount St. Joseph, where she was a two-time All-American and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022. Her father, John, played football at Franklin College.

Lizzie MacIntosh • 6-1 • Outside Hitter • Rockford, Mich. • Rockford (GRCC)
MacIntosh comes to Western Michigan with two years of eligibility remaining after spending the last two seasons at Grand Rapids Community College. In her two seasons, the Raiders went a combined 52-9, won back-to-back MCCAA regular season and tournament championships, won consecutive Great Lakes B District Tournament titles and made a pair of appearances in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
Over the course of her two seasons at GRCC, she totaled more than 500 kills, 500 digs and 80.0 blocks. As a freshman, MacIntosh was selected All-MCCAA and to the Northern First Team, as well as to the Northern All-Freshman Team. This past fall, she earned All-MCCAA and Northern First Team honors for the second straight year and was named to the All-Region Team.
MacIntosh attended Rockford High School, where she followed in the footsteps of her older sister, Annie, who helped the team to a state runner-up finish in 2018. A four-year letterwinner for head coach Kelly Delacher, she helped the Rams compile a 134-54-2 mark in her career and won back-to-back District and Regional championships for the first time in school history. In her four years, MacIntosh racked up nearly 900 kills, over 1,000 digs and more than 200 aces.
Outside of volleyball, she participated in the Peer Listening Program, a mental health advocacy group, and Rockford's newscast, Beyond the Rock, a program which was selected state champions by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
