BUCKEYE BRIEFING
Ohio State is 1-0 after hosting and taking down the Akron Zips 52-6, last Saturday in Columbus. Kansas State transfer quarterback Will Howard threw for 228 yards and three touchdowns, while TreVeyon Henderson led the team in rushing with 65 yards. Highly-touted freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith had six catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns in his collegiate debut.

OSU's defense forced three turnovers with a pair of interceptions and one fumble against the Zips. The team also recorded five sacks and allowed just 177 total yards.

MAMA, I'M COMING HOME
Seven Broncos hail from the state of Ohio: Broc Lowry (Canfield), Donald Willis (Cleveland), Luka Zurak (Cleveland), Michael Gravely Jr. (Cleveland), Sid Kaba (Columbus), Gavin Dabo (Grove City), and Dalton Gustweiler (Dayton).

ON WISCONSIN
• 24 Years: WMU's defense allowed ZERO plays above 20 yards against the Badgers. The last time that happened against a Power 4 team was against.... Wisconsin back on Aug. 31, 2000. UW running back Michael Bennett had one rush for 20 yards for the longest play of the game for the Badgers.

• Spreading the Wealth: Hayden Wolff connected with eight different receivers against the Badgers. It's the third time in his brief Bronco career that he's spread the wealth to at least eight. He found nine different receivers last season against Northern Illinois last season and eight against Mississippi State.

• Under 400: Head coach Lance Taylor's defense held Wisconsin to 388 total yards of offense. It's the second time a team of his has held Power 4 offense under 400 yards, with WMU allowing 387 against Iowa last season. Before that, you must go back to the magical 2016 MAC Championship/Cotton Bowl season to find another Bronco D holding a P4 team under 400 yards of offense. That season, WMU held Northwestern to 319 yards and Illinois to 315.

• Lots of Firsts: 16 Broncos made their Western Michigan debuts Friday night against the Badgers. Bugs Mortimer and Chris Toudle each caught their first passes, while Jaden Nixon had five rushes and caught a pass. Jordin Parker had a rush for five yards. On defense, Anterio Thompson and Domanick Moon each had five tackles, while Armani Adams and Nyquann Washington also made stops. On special teams, Ryan Millmore had two punts for an average of 48 yards and landed both inside the 20
