CLEVELAND – Western Michigan fifth-year setter
Logan Case has been named the MAC Setter of the Week for the first week of the season, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Case had a pair of double-doubles, handed out 144 assists (12.00/set) and registered 39 digs (3.25/set) to help the Broncos to a pair of wins and a spot on the All-Tournament Team over the weekend.
The Maineville, Ohio, native opened the season by nearly picking up a double-double (41 assists, 8 digs) in the win over LMU, which like WMU was receiving votes in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Preseason Poll. Case followed that up with 48 assists and 10 digs in Saturday's victory over Loyola Chicago and then closed out the weekend with 55 assists and a career-high 21 digs against Clemson, the first 20/20 performance by a Bronco since November of 2022.
Case and the Broncos head to Milwaukee this weekend to face a pair of ranked foes, with matchups against #13 Kansas on Saturday and #24 Marquette on Sunday. Both contests are set for 2 pm starts.
