VALPARAISO, Ind. -- The Western Michigan cross country team finished fourth at the Winrow-Valparaiso Open on Friday afternoon. All seven Broncos finished in the top 40 of the race, including
Lily Overton earning a top-10 finish.
The final standings were: Notre Dame (43 points), Purdue (48), Butler (65),
WMU (105), Ball State (165), Illinois Chicago (167), IU Indianapolis (183), Valparaiso (219) and Goshen (245).
Overton led the way for the Brown and Gold, collecting sixth place finish with a time of 18:09.80. The second runner to cross the finish line for the Broncos was
Delaney Knoll. She posted a 23rd-place finish with a time of 18:47.60.
Brooke Soper and
Grace Aurand also joined the scoring lineup, placing 25th and 26th, respectively. Soper concluded the race in a time of 18:50.00, while Aurand was able to notch a time of 18:50.60. To round out the scoring lineup,
Lauren Sancrant claimed 28th place. She recorded a time of 18:53.00.
Madison Clor and
Ava Kurczewski were also in the top 40, earning times of 19:11.00 and 19:32.60, respectively.
UP NEXT
Western Michigan will host the George Dales Invite on Sept. 20 at the Prairies Golf Club. The meet is set for 10 AM.
