KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan men's tennis had four student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, with
Anton Arzhankin,
Jackson Boone,
Benjamin George, and
Ferdinand Schlueter earning the honors.
All four repeat the honors from last season, with Boone, George and Schlueter wrapping up their careers with the status. Boone, a Second Team All-MAC selection, boasts a 3.96 GPA in philosophy and went 21-14 during the full season, including 6-4 in MAC play. He partnered with Arzhankin as WMU's top doubles pair, going 6-2 in conference play and 10-4 at No. 1.
George was a First Team All-MAC selection, posting a 10-0 record in conference play and 22-9 overall. Schlueter was a big part of WMU's success in doubles, with nine wins in dual-match play. Arzhankin was also a First Team All-MAC selection after going 9-1 in conference singles and 6-2 in MAC doubles with Boone. Overall, he went 20-2 in dual-match singles competition.
All four were pivotal to WMU's success and played key roles in capturing the MAC Regular Season Championship.
