KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey program and head coach
Pat Ferschweiler have announced the return of forward
Cam Knuble for the 2024-25 season.
Knuble joined the program for the 2020-21 season, becoming crucial to the success of the team. Splitting time between forward and defense in his career, Knuble's versatility has helped the team in tough spots.
Over the course of his career, he has played in 72 total games, including 28 in 2023-24. In those games, he has three points on two goals and one assist to go along with 23 blocked shots and 47 faceoffs won.
In his true senior season in 2023-24, Knuble had one assist, seven blocks and 17 faceoffs won. Additionally, he has been part of the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team in all four seasons on campus.
His play has helped the team rise to national prominence. In his four years with the program, the Broncos have won 80 games. Additionally, the team has made three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, which had never been done in program history prior to the 2023-24 season.
"It was an easy decision to come back to WMU," Knuble said. "Another year with Bronco hockey means another chance at not only a conference title, but an NCAA Championship. It also gives me a great opportunity to better myself academically, working towards an MBA at the Haworth College of Business."
