Cade Sullivan has climbed to #33 in
D1Baseball's midseason ranking of the Top 50 First Basemen. The WMU senior was the highest-ranked MAC player at any position in the publication's midseason player rankings.
Sullivan has been outstanding in the first 25 games of his senior campaign, leading the Broncos in batting average (.398), hits (41), runs (32) and tied for the team lead with six home runs. His .398 batting average and 32 runs scored are both the second-best marks in the conference, while the Naperville, Ill., native is also among the league leaders in hits (41, 3rd), on-base percentage (.475, 5th), RBIs (29, 6th), slugging percentage (.641, 8th) and OPS (1.116, 7th).
The first baseman entered the season tied for Western Michigan's career home run record, and in the second game of the season, blasted a go-ahead, two-run homer in the 10th inning to beat Michigan. He currently sits on 34 career home runs and is tied for fourth all-time with 140 career runs batted in.
Western Michigan begins a four-game road trip on Friday as it opens up a three-game MAC series down in Athens against Ohio. The opener of the three-game set against the Bobcats is slated for Friday evening at 6 pm on
ESPN+.
