KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's basketball program and head coach
Dwayne Stephens have announced the signing of 6-10 forward Junior Sileu out of Chandler, Ariz. Sileu joins the duo of Chansey Willis Jr. (Detroit) and EJ Ryans (Grand Rapids), who signed with the Broncos back in November, in WMU's 2024 signing class.
"We are excited about Junior becoming a Bronco!" Coach Stephens said. "Junior is a super talented individual, both on and off the court. He is a hard worker in the gym and will be a great addition to our community. We look forward to getting him to Kalamazoo this summer!"
Sileu comes to Western Michigan from AZ Compass Prep, an extremely successful program in Chandler, Ariz. AZ Compass went 27-6 last season and was ranked #5 in MaxPreps' final National Boys Basketball Top 10 poll.
This past season, Sileu led his team in rebounds 25 times, in scoring eight times and collected seven double-doubles. He was named Game MVP twice, including a game against the EduPrize National Team during which he tallied 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Sileu was also the MVP at the McDonald's Classic, where he notched 15 points and 16 boards.
Academically, he carries a 3.33 GPA and earned honors for Excellence in English, High Excellence in Mathematics and was a member of the Honor Roll. He plans to study Nursing at Western Michigan.
