THE STREAK GOES ON
After sweeping Miami over the weekend, Western Michigan has won seven in a row, its longest winning streak since 2021. The Broncos are 7-2 at home this season and have won seven consecutive MAC home series. Wins over Goshen and Michigan State this week would extend WMU's overall wining streak to nine in a row, which would be the longest for the Brown and Gold since 2005.

THE OPPONENTS
Western Michigan is set to face Goshen for the first time ever on Tuesday afternoon. The Maple Leafs are 12-28 overall and 7-21 in the NAIA's Crossroads League. WMU leads the all-time series against Michigan State 98-82. The Spartans have taken the first two games this season, 13-3 on March 2 and 5-3 on March 8, both in Greenville, S.C.

WEEKEND RECAP
The Broncos are coming off of their second consecutive MAC sweep over the weekend as they broomed a three-game set against Miami. WMU opened the weekend with a shutout of the RedHawks in game one of Saturday's twin bill, the second straight conference shutout for the Brown and Gold. Western Michigan won the second game of the doubleheader, 8-5, then closed out the weekend with a 17-11 comeback win on Sunday to complete the sweep.

ANOTHER SHUTOUT
Western Michigan started this past weekend against Miami the way it ended the prior weekend at Ohio, with a shutout. Brady Miller tossed the first 7.0 innings, and Hayden Berg then retired all six batters he faced, striking out five of them, over the final two innings. Over the course of its last two MAC series, the Broncos put together a 27-inning scoreless streak which was broken up by the RedHawks in game two of Saturday's doubleheader.

RALLY CAPS SERIES SWEEP
WMU found itself trailing 8-0 after three-and-a-half innings in Sunday's series finale at Miami. After plating two in the fourth and five in the fifth, the deficit was down to 9-7. The Broncos then erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth to blow past the RedHawks in an eventual 17-11 sweep-clinching victory. It was the second time this season Western Michigan had scored double-digit runs in an inning, as the Brown and Gold pushed across 12 runs in the second inning of a 19-1 win at Pepperdine on Feb. 25.

MILLER MOWS 'EM DOWN
Brady Miller worked 7.0 innings for the third consecutive start on Saturday, limiting the RedHawks to four hits while collecting four strikeouts on the way to a shutout victory. The redshirt senior was rewarded on Monday by being named MAC Co-Pitcher of the Week, making him the second Bronco pitcher (Turner Doran) to earn the award this season. Following Saturday's outing, Miller ranks fifth in Western Michigan program history in both career innings pitched (269.0) and career strikeouts (227).

OFFENSIVE ONSLAUGHT
The Western Michigan offense enters the week atop the MAC in both batting average (.316) and on-base percentage (.423), with the batting average ranking 20th in NCAA DI and the OBP ranked 23rd nationally. The Broncos also pace the league in hits (352) and sacrifice bunts (27), while ranking second in total runs (253) and runs/game (7.9).

TERRIFIC TRIFECTA
The middle of the order trio of Cade Sullivan, CJ Richmond and Dylan Nevar has been a huge part of Western Michigan's offensive success thus far. Nevar is tied for the conference lead in RBIs with 41, while Richmond and Sullivan are tied for sixth with 37 apiece. All three rank in the top-10 in batting average as well, with Sullivan second (.408), Nevar seventh (.362) and Richmond 10th (.355).

SWINGIN' SULLIVAN
Cade Sullivan is all over the MAC leaderboards, including ranking atop the conference with a .503 on-base percentage and tied for the league lead with 42 runs scored. The senior is second in the league in batting average (.408), hits (53) and OPS (1.157), is tied for fourth in walks (24) and is ninth in slugging percentage (.654).

RAKING RICHMOND
Like Sullivan, CJ Richmond finds himself among the MAC leaders in numerous offensive categories. The junior is third in the conference with a .480 on-base percentage, tied for sixth in RBIs (37), tied for eighth in doubles (9), 10th in batting average (.355) and 11th in OPS (1.083). He has reached base in a team-high 32 consecutive games.
